Welcome & Introduction

So you have decided to come to Madeira. Apart from the year round mild weather and excellent "green" eye-candy you may also just want to stay somewhere nice. Somewhere where it is warm, where the south facing position of a very personal and traditonal property enjoys excellent sunny dispositions and floral filled gardens, and where the best of heartfelt warmth and welcome is provided by your affable and sometimes gregarious host. With a convenient location near to the motorway between Funchal and Camara de Lobos easy access is had to almost any part of Funchal within minutes, and to the rest of the island from between 10 to 45 minutes. The property is about 20 minutes from the airport and with our driving instructions it is a breeze to get here. However, as a courtesy the host prefers to meet and greet guests at the airport.

Quinta Freitas is testimony to the reincarnation of a style of property that was enjoyed by the owner as a young child in Madeira. It is reminiscent of the way a grand old Portuguese families lived by in the "good old days". Traditional style furniture - a touch of colonial, Indo-luso, and African Portuguese all herald the times of a Portuguese empire that was to come to close in the 20th century. But it is also a modern property. It was recently built and has a huge skylight in the stairwell to invite the lovely Madeiran sun into the home. There are huge bathrooms and large king size beds for every bedroom. All of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms.

The quinta can be enjoyed as a bed-and-breakfast vacation, as a Bedroom only, or as an exclusive villa with access to the kitchen for self-catering purposes - availability permitting of-course (we recommend you book well in advance for exclusive use of the quinta as it would be highly unlikely to be avilable at a last-minutes notice). There is enough parking for each of the rooms guests when they hire cars. However, there is regular bus services less than thirty metres away to Funchal's city centre.
